Tips
for Talks
Microsoft Power Point is a boon to our presentations. But
have you noticed how the number of slides seems to grow and
grow as you revise? Too often, what starts out as a tidy 25-slide
presentation turns into a 75-slide monster. Your presentation
gets longer, and your cost for proofing and printing of decks
goes up.
Creeping Power Point—it's a disease that needs treatment.
If your presentation is growing unwieldy, cut and condense
the text-only slides, leaving the more interesting graphic/chart
slides. Commit yourself to a maximum number and stick to it.
Consider using the Notes function on an existing slide, which
will remind you to make a verbal point during your talk without
adding slides.
